Finance and Legal Supervisor

Our client is a holding company with a Mission to fight climate change with the Agri-Food revolution. They invest in disruptive companies reshaping the future of our food systems.
Based in Brussels, they are looking for a meticulous, autonomous, and multi-skills Finance & Legal Supervisor to join their team of change makers and impact investors.

You will coordinate the organizations accounting and legal systems, maintaining accurate records and will be responsible for cementing the environment between regulatory/consulting stakeholders and the company & its shareholders. Back-office responsibilities, performing a variety of financial activities including elaborating analysis, producing impact reports, developing models, guidance and coordinating regular financial reporting. You will also be tasked with overseeing their participations financial performance by setting and tracking goals. The position will report to the founder and President of the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Developing budget, financial models, method of management control and performance, and establishing financials reports in relation to current budget and prior year information.
  • Coordinate the proper administrative, material, legal, and fiscal settings of the company, ensuring compliance with the accounting procedures of the organization.
  • Establish relationships with regulatory bodies like corporate advisors, FSMA, Euronext Access, etc.
  • Co-ordination all legal matters involving the company and ensuring compliance with accounting laws, authorities, financial guidelines, and regulations.
  • Working with investors, investees and provide post-investment financial services and reporting.
  • Monitors expenditures and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Performing thorough research, analysis and following daily businesses.
  • Understanding key business drivers and trends of the Agri-food-tech industry.


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or Economics and knowledge of Corporate Finance.
  • Followed by relevant and proven minimum 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Research skills and ability to present accurate back-office, legal, and financial data, and information.
  • A “doer” with organizational/multitasking skills. Valuable knowledge of Excel modelling, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal fluency in English and French/Dutch is mandatory.
  • Attention to details and ability to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Incredibly good relational skills, diplomatic, reliable, organized, methodical and adaptable, with a sense of discretion and confidentiality. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to learn new businesses at the frontier of technology and previous experience at the intersection of technology and/or food/agriculture.

Your Profile

  • You love to code and it’s more than a job, it’s a passion
  • You have a very good knowledge of PHP; you have 3 years’ experience minimum in coding with PHP
  • You adhere to OOP, SOA, SOLID, TDD, PSR, use namespacing and other best practices
  • You use Composer and some classic frameworks like Symfony, Laravel or Silex
  • You’re a dynamic and proactive person always looking for the next challenge
  • You have good command of English AND French
  • You have an EU citizenship or a valid Belgium work permit
